Amazing Minds

What is Amazing Minds?

Amazing Minds is the new and exciting, one-to-one, one hour per week, six session growth mindset programme based on the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed with effort, learning, courage and persistence. This awesome approach was introduced by the Psychologist, Carol Dweck who believes that a growth mindset nurtures and fosters positive and resilient approaches to learning, personal development, encourages individuals to embrace their challenges in life, learn from their failures, and have a deep inner passion to thrive and prosper. How amazing is that!

Growth Mindset

The concept of the growth mindset can bring opportunity when challenge or failure arises and we coach our children and young people about the gifts of consistency, routine, perseverance and learning how we can work towards being ‘ok’ when maybe life just isn’t ‘ok’. These are some of the great mile stones of thinking and being that we share with our learners throughout the six sessions. Building resourcefulness and resilience enables quicker recovery times and secures ‘bounce back’ rather than ‘dipping’ into difficulty and longer time of dire straits!

Mindfulness is central to the Amazing Minds programme and we use this scientific evidenced based practice throughout the six sessions showing children and young people in simple easy ways to retrain the mind so it can work in a more kinder, brighter, curious way. What’s the outcome? Quite simply, we teach our learners that we can spend our days experiencing more of the good stuff such as: joy, happiness, kindness, compassion and resourcefulness. This approach fosters a love for learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishments and personal success. What a way to live right!

Delivered using established tried and tested coaching styles, our learners repeatedly tell us that they experience a fun, positive, motivational journey which they enjoy 100%. Our learners engage with enthusiasm and excitement and are super keen when invited to work with an Amazing Minds Coach. The programme is seen as an opportunity, a positive motivational learning experience which can help you to reach goals and aspirations in life. Children and young people tell their friends, families, and their peers about being coached and there is a real sense of pride and celebration about being part of the super cool programme.

Inclusivity and Diversity

Inclusivity and diversity are pivotal in all that we do ensuring that our learners feel acknowledged, listened too, respected and understood. This means that we embrace difference and believe that it is our role to make the changes, shape the delivery and tailor our sessions so our learners can thrive and flourish. We make a conscious effort to stay informed, access educational updates and developments around children, young people and neurodivergence. We can never know everything, but we can commit to remaining open and inclusive in our approach to delivering Amazing Minds.

The Brain and the Mind

Looking after our most valuable asset means understanding the importance of the brain, and bringing to attention how the brain and mind are connected is the eureka moment of our Amazing Minds programme. We bring new ways of thinking and being to the table of knowledge and understanding, which can change the lives of so many children and young people that are lost in worlds of worry, fear, anxiety, sadness, anger and loneliness. Realising how important it is to look after the mind at such a young age using simple and easy mindfulness techniques is a game changer for long term mental and emotional wellbeing.
